RICHARD GOULD ANTIQUES

#15636
A rare fine early 19th century coach panel
painted in oils on a wood panel with an elaborate coat of arms beneath an Earl's coronet. In an old and perhaps original parcel gilt frame.
England, circa 1820-40.

20 1/2" X 16 3/8" framed size

According to Angela Howard of Heirloom and Howard in the UK these are apocryphal arms which were probably invented by a highly skilled coach painter to showcase his skills. A few of these sample panels are known
and are most desirable.
The panel is untouched and has its original finish.
